The eponymous volcano Izalco is 1,950 meters high and last erupted in 1966; due to its molten legacy and the tropical climate of Central America, there is now a mineral-rich black soil that produces lush sugar cane fields.

This blend matures for a decade in ex-bourbon barrels and is bottled at a balanced 43% vol.
