Peloton de La Muerte mezcal is made using 100% Maguey Criollo, cultivated in the terrains of El Arenal, Mexico near the village Neltume. Peloton de la Muerte is one of the few producers that uses locally cultivated agave plants and not just the wild plants that overrun the valleys of Oaxaca. The liquid produced after cooking these plants is called Agua Miel, or honey water which runs out at about 67 percent alcohol.
