Launched in 1989 by John Paul DeJoira and Martin Crowley, the Patrn Spirits Company was built around crafting ultra-premium tequila. In 2002, the company constructed a state-of-the-art facility in Jalisco, Mexico, becoming the first spirits brand in its class to sell one million cases. The distillery is known for its hybrid technique where half of the agaves are traditionally tahona-crushed, while the other half are roller-mill crushed. The freshly milled desert succulents are slow-roasted in an oven, before being fermented in wooden vats. Launched in 2022, Patrn El Alto is a luxurious range-topping expression that starts with the sweetest 100% blue Weber agaves from the highest parts of Jalisco, Mexico. Meticulously aged extra aejo, aejo, and reposado tequilas are blended into this prestigious expression that was crafted by legendary Master Distiller David Rodriguez and his team. Bold, sweet, and smooth, El Alto is a refined reposado tequila that was aged in 11 types of barrels, most of these being hybrid barrels with an American oak body and French oak heads.
