In 1973, the Nonino family first introduced the production of their Grappa Monovitigno, made from pomace from Picolit grapes. Pomace is the solid residue left after pressing the grape.
Nonino Grappa Monovitigno il Merlot is obtained from the Merlot grape and undergoes distillation in one of the copper steam stills.
