Mastic, a fragrant resin from the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus), has been valued since ancient times and gives the ouzo a refreshing, slightly maritime note. The unique method of distillation brings out the complexity and balance of the ouzo, making it a sophisticated Greek specialty.
