In tequila, few expressions can match the meticulous craftsmanship of Fuenteseca’s 11-Year Extra Aejo. Born from the visionary approach of Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca, this tequila is a testament to innovation, patience, and extraordinary attention to detail.

Distilled in late 2008, this exceptional spirit emerges from a unique blend of distillation techniques. Two-thirds of the distillate was created using a double-copper column still with plates removeda method deliberately lowers the distillation proof, preserving more of the agave’s intricate character. The remaining third was still crafted in an alembic pot, adding further complexity to the final blend.

The aging process is equally remarkable. A carefully curated barrel selection tells its own story:

• 30% aged in American white oak barrels previously used for California red wine
• 70% aged in dark French oak barrels

These barrels found their resting place in a subterranean barrel roomcool and dry, with soft air circulation gently caressing the aging spirits. Eleven years of patient maturation transformed this tequila into a liquid artifact.
