Camarena Anejo Tequila is the result of a heritage steeped in tradition and a dedication to preserving the art of Tequila-making for over 250 years. The Camarena family’s journey into Tequila began in the early 18th century when their Spanish ancestors immigrated to Mexico and co-founded the town of Arandas in 1761. Arandas has long been regarded as the epicenter of artisanal highlands Tequila production, and it is here that the Camarena family’s family-owned distillery calls home.

Throughout six generations, the Camarena family has been unwavering in their commitment to preserving the precious resources of this significant region. They have practiced sustainable farming techniques and taken a forward-thinking approach to cultivating quality agave. Notably, the family’s distillery engineers have devised an innovative system to recycle vinazas, the organic residue generated during careful distillation in Tequila production. These vinazas are repurposed to enrich the agave fields with organic material, yeast, and sugar, contributing to the sustainability and ecological harmony of the Los Altos Highlands region.
