Cuervo, the world’s oldest tequila, has a storied history dating back to 1795, when Jose Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo received the first official charter from the King of Spain to produce tequila commercially, and began selling the first Vino Mezcal de Tequila. The distillery has been producing tequila at La Roje?, the most historic active distillery in Latin America, ever since. To celebrate this rich tradition, Jose Cuervo created the 250 Aniversario Anejo, an ultra-aged tequila made from 100% blue agave. The tequila is first aged in French and American oak barrels, then blended with the finest and oldest tequilas in the distillery, and finally aged for an additional year in Spanish sherry barrels.
