2021 Wild Duck Creek Estate Yellow Hammer Hill 750ml

A wine made for pure enjoyment. This blend of grape varieties makes a wonderful all-round wine fit for almost any occasion.

Originally a Shiraz / Malbec blend, we added Cabernet Sauvignon to this wine to give greater textural diversity. The grapes are sourced from the same vineyards every year, fully and gently de-stemmed, hand plunged and basket pressed. The wine is then matured for up to 23 months in older French and American oak barriques, hogsheads, and large format vats, as well as some concrete vats for added complexity. Yellow Hammer Hill is a wonderful all round red wine to be enjoyed with almost any occasion.

Critic tasting note: (2021 vintage) “Another richly textured, powerful wine from this address, underlain by a welcome skein of freshness. A burst of molten rock and licorice across the back end, interspersed with currant, violet, clove, paprika, raspberry bon bon and hedgerow, a gentle touch of green servicing welcome refreshment. A capacious as this is as it hits the palate, the freshness is palpable and pliant, manifest as juicy acidity and chewy tannins buried beneath the fray. Draw in air, explore and ye shall find.
