2019 Sanguine Estate ‘Inception’ Shiraz 750ml

The 2019 vintage was exceptional for Sanguine and this has all the hallmarks of a complex age worthy Heathcote shiraz. A very concentrated dark purple, bright and youthful. Pleasing aromas of violet, dark cherry and blackberrys with just a hint of oak and spice absorbed by the intense concentration of fruit. This shiraz is classic Sanguine, rich, vibrant with great balance. Blackberry, iodine and warm tar aromas. The colour and nose prepare you for an intense wine and that is exactly what we have here. Big, dark fruits sit in the middle but its the weight of deep earthy-savouries that really stand out. Theres a hint of saline acidity then a firm grip of chewy but well-contextualised tannins that focus and define this wine. The tension between weight and structure is very well handled and it lingers for an age on the palate. Will reward significant cellaring.
