APPEARANCE Deep ruby with violet hues.

AROMA Vivid and intense aromas of blueberry, red currant, mulberry, anise, violets and crushed flowering herbs, revealing more subtle notes of burnt orange, sage, cardamom, white pepper and cedar.

PALATE A powerful and concentrated palate of rich red berries and cut plums, excellent freshness and balance, and textural layers of fine, velvety tannins.

GRAPES/BLEND 100% Shiraz from up to 70 year-old, low-yielding vines grown in the Barossa. PH 3.55 ACID (G/L) 5.9 g/L MATURATION Matured in 16% new and 84% seasoned French hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.

VINTAGE NOTES Vintage 2019 shaped up to be a challenging one, with below-average yeilds, however the quality was very high, with beautiful expressions of varietal character and generally good balance and structure. Yields were down due to ‘hen and chicken’ (berries of different sizes), caused by cold, wet conditions during flowering. A dry Winter, Spring and Summer with warmer than average temperatures in January and February lead to the advancement of maturity of all grape varieties in the Barossa Valley and an early onset of vintage.
