The gnarled thicket of DW-OLD was sown between 1888 & 1912 with the adjacent ER-27 planted in 1927. The pair reigned supreme amidst the moist and abundant 2017 season, yielding arelaxed and plush expression of the Hoffmanns deep red earths.
These 19 Burgundian Pices were carefully assembled following their second winter having endured a 77 week elevage.Bottles were filled withoutfiltration, fining or sparging (the removal of naturally occurring oxygen & C02) and all handling was completed via gravity prior to bottling.
Yields ranged between 31 & 43 hectolitres per hectare.
4961 bottles were filled.
