Winemakers Notes:
Sourced from low-yielding vines rooted in deep red Cambrian soils on a gentle easterly slope in northern Heathcote. The fruit was picked at peak ripeness and balance, then destemmed while preserving whole berries for optimal integrity. Fermentation occurred naturally in an open 3,800L wooden vat, with 40 days of skin contact through gentle pump-overs. The wine then matured for 18 months in a mix of new and seasoned French Tronais and Hungarian oak.
Tasting Notes:
Aromatic layers of savory brown spice, truffle, and black pepper intertwine with dark blackberry, plum, and ripe cherry, accented by floral violet notes. This is a powerful, structured wine with earthy depth, a fleshy texture, and persistent fine tannins balanced by vibrant acidity. Subtle musk, smoky oak, and a touch of perfume add further complexity. Enjoy now or cellar for 510 years for enhanced depth and elegance, with potential for long-term aging.
