Marie Courtin’s Efflorescence is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from the Cte des Bar, sourced from a single parcel in Polisot. The vines, aged 3540 years and selected through massale propagation, grow at the base of a hillside where clay-rich soils intermingle with bands of Kimmeridgian limestonegeology more akin to Chablis than to pernay.
Farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand, the grapes undergo fermentation in used barriques with native yeasts for both primary and secondary fermentations. The wine then ages sur lie for three years before being bottled with zero dosage, resulting in a Champagne of depth, precision, and energy.
