The name Sljivovica is derived from the Croatian word “Slivja” (plum) and already reveals a great deal about Croatia’s national drink. Bistrica plums, which are grown around the capital Zagreb, form the basis of this exceptional plum brandy.
Before fermentation, the harvested plums are carefully sorted and selected. They are then crushed together with their ground stones and distilled in copper kettles. Storage takes place for around 3 years in oak barrels.
